About Us:

Forging Youth Resilience (FYR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that empowers young people to build physical and mental strength for life by providing access to a network of community-based fitness programs, nutrition education, and mentorship.

We use fitness as a tool to teach imperative life skills like perseverance, grit, determination, resilience and confidence to prepare our athletes to face the challenges life throws their way with grace, maturity and strength.

Position Summary:

FYR is seeking a Communications Admin to join our team and help us scale our national impact and expand our reach in underserved communities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, process-minded, and a problem solver. Working with the Director of Programs and members of the Board of Directors, the Communications Admin is a key role in our small, but growing team.

The position includes a significant amount of defined ongoing administrative responsibilities, juggling a variety of projects to support and further the organization’s mission and build our capacity, while also sustaining the ability to respond to immediate needs in a fast-paced environment.

As a point of contact within our community, it is imperative the Communications Admin is passionate about our mission and demonstrates our commitment to helping kids reach their full potential.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Programs, you will routinely support our team with the following:

  • Social media management (IG, FB Group, etc…)
  • Website updates and monitoring
  • E-mail newsletter communications (Mailchimp)
  • Host Gym recruitment and communications for annual IGNITE Fundraiser
  • Recruiting and Scheduling speakers for FYRside Chat programs
  • Donor database management (Little Green Light)
  • Assist Dir of Programs with monitoring admin@forgingyouth email communications
  • Assist Dir of Programs with Local Club admin when needed (info session scheduling, new LC communications and onboarding, etc…)
  • Assist with Camp planning and operations (requested to be available onsite for Camp)
  • Assist with other administrative-related tasks as needed

Desired Skillset & Attributes:

  • Enthusiasm for our mission and belief in the power of community
  • At least 3+ years of experience in a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • At least 6 months of CrossFit experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with social media, email management and donor database management platforms.
  • Commitment to FYR’s core values, including honesty and integrity
  • Self-motivated and eager to jump into projects, able to take initiative and work without direct supervision
  • Positive and energetic demeanor, demonstrating strong and consistent customer service with our staff, partners, donors, youth, volunteers, and the general public
  • Proven ability to succeed on a remote team and work independently

Details:

This is currently a contractor position at 20 hours per week with flexible hours and the possibility of expanding to a full-time role if the need arises. We are a fully remote organization, but we would prefer a candidate located in the Denver, CO area.

Travel to and support of our annual Local Club Summit (1 weekend in March/April) and annual Summer Leadership Camp (9-10 days in mid July) is required. Both are located in Colorado.

The salary range for this position is $20-25/hour, based on experience.
